Where we’ve been
Fuse (formerly Blind Aggression) has been a competition paintball team for 16 years and ran/coached by one man, Jon Thompson (A.K.A. JT$). He is been around in the sport and done most of the things there is to do with it. Now, he sticks to coaching, but he can still ball. He is, and always will be, the definition of Blind Aggression.
Over the Years, JT$ has always had several other teams aside from just Fuse. Local teams such as IMPACT, and PROPAIN have repped the bA name. On the Regional to national level teams Blind Aggression, BA Factory, bA Kidz, and BASS were all coached by the Man.
The last couple of years Fuse has been out of the national scene. At one point we thought the team had seen its last days — with the fallof bA Factory, and the bA kidz splitting up, and going their separate ways — But a couple of months into the off-season of 2005/2006 JT$ was at it again. He started the school of paintball again building what most would call inexperienced players into killers. He took the untested new players to the EXP under bA Red. That’s where the legacy started to come back. Jon and his newly built team took 1st place at the event.
Midway through the season some of the players from the old bA teams decided came back. With the backing of TNT PAINTBALL JT$ had enough players to take two teams to the rest of the EXP events. bA Red finished the tournament series in first place. In the time BA RED was making their way to the top, two men (Brian Warner and David Wohlfeil), were determined to start a BA team on the national level again. This was the birth of FUSE.
These two men had the help of fellow Teammates Michael Marine, and Bryan Vasaris — they were on there way of having a Super Seven team again.
Now this brings us to where we sit today. BA Now has around 40 players and are acquiring more to build our ARMY up into a MILITIA of 60 players. Within this huge roster of JT$ made killers, Fuse will have a division III PSP xball team, a DIV xball team, as well as two or more SEPS teams, and as many local teams as humanly possible. Look for us on the podium this year, destroying a city near you.
The bA Factory is a system similar to what Gridlock uses to grow their player base. Team Fuse has actually been using this type of system for many, many years to produce some of the finest talent in the OH/KY/IN area. We show up to practice condition, and drill, then drill some more, then maybe, if we’re lucky . . . scrimmage.
We call it “The Factory” because we produce players, friends and teams . . . just like a factory produces products. What Fuse does differently than other teams, or better said — what JT$ does — is take kids that have passion for the sport an a willingness to learn, and teaches them to play paintball from the ground up. It takes a little bit longer this way, but the product is much greater, as are the benefits.
Fuse does not have tryouts. Ever. Having tryouts brings egos, and egos clash. Building players gets you what you want, what you put in, and are willing to take the effort to build. Fuse is not only a group of paintball players but also a family. When you play paintball with people for so long, and you see them grow, and see them build through the years, it’s a great feeling. Its great to know that you have been apart of a persons life. Other teams players do come and go, but that is what “The Factory” is for.
We do everything as a team. When we lose, the team loses. When we win, the team wins — the factory wins. We are only as strong as are weakest players. As a big part of paintball in the area, the way in
which we represent ourselves is always professional. We like to think we are the best team around. If not on the field, then off the field. We always treat our opponents with the utmost respect. Other teams look at us and want what we have.
That is brotherhood.
Every player on the team loves each other like a family member. We also pride our system on the fact that there are no politics involved. The best players play on the best squad, and so on and so forth. The bA atmosphere is simply the best there is.
