In the grind with Mutiny

So this weekend we rolled up to Paintball Plex (which, by the way, is mega-flippin-awesome . . . so visit that site and go there!) to scrimmage against Tommy and his Mutiny boys, Edge, and Farside. Took both 7man squads up there to see how we fit into this whole 7man fandango . . . pretty good as it turns out. Honestly, I was surprised at how well we played, especially only 3 of the 17 guys I took up there had any 7man experience to speak of.

So here’s what I know: Mutiny, Farside and Edge are straight up good dudes. We were in the grind from 12pm to around 5, and didn’t have one argument . . . not one blow up . . . not one altercation. Everyone played strong, hurried off the field and turned games around mega quick. I couldn’t have been happier.

Big ups to Tommy for putting together practice and to Mike for having a kickass location to throw down. Since the season looms closer by the day, we’ll be up there at least 2x a month.

In other news, AJAS and Fuse are in a few publications this month (click the links!): Facefull and X3. Thanks to both mags for hooking up the exposure and taking an interest in the AJAS cause and our crazy team.

I’ve got a couple of cool things brewing that I can’t talk about yet . . . but stay tuned

We’re playing 7man again. How crazy is that? We’ve teamed up with Mutiny out of Indy . . . some exciting things are about to pop. Working on the new AJAS site to announce some of our big doings with Tommy O’Donnel and his boys. Unfortunately, we’re going to have to miss Huntington Beach. God, I love that event and it breaks my heart to have to miss it. But, to many changes, too little support from the industry, the economy and too little practice time is causing me to make that decision. As such, we’re playing the first GPL and then picking up the USPL events in DC.

There are still a few loose ends that need to be tied up, but soon all will be squared away. Most of the guys are headed to Paintball Plex this weekend to practice Tommy’s boys and Farside Kids. The kids will be going to PB Country to hang out with Bob and skrim his 5man team. A good paintball week, I’m sure. More to follow. . .

Expo day 3

Well, things are winding down. Had some good chats with Josh and Larry at CFOA and the guy from the chrono place (which is located 10 miles from my house… Bizarre).

The big deal of the day was talking with Gavin from TechPB. As you may remember, TechPB came and interviewed me about AJAS at cup this past year. They’re talking about doing some more cool things this year. I’ll keep you all posted once we hammer out details. Thanks Gavin!

Expo day 2

So after rocking the booth like a sleep deprived warrior, we rolled back to the hotel and crashed out. Day 2 rolls around and it’s booth-tacilar. Meet some more cool peeps, talk about the season with the dude from MSXL and CFOA and USPL. there are some slick products for the scenerio kids, and some companies have some nice laser engraving work.

No one has anything earth shattering … Been hanging out with the dude from pinokio and Murder Inc.

Expo day 1

So we made it. Drive through the night, slept for a few hours and set up the booth while David wiped the sleep from his eyes. So far, we’ve met some cool people and seen some sweet products.

Not sure if people have seen the new Dye loader colors but they are pretty nice. See pix below.

Off to the PB Expo

Well, David, Wendy and I are about to pile into the van with the AJAS booth in the back seat and take a ride down to Atlanta. It’ll be nice to get away from the ice and snow and into some nice weather for a change. I’ll be updating the travel blog with pix of new stuffs at the Expo and tales of fun, excitement and new friends.

We’re moving into a new indoor as well this week, so that’ll be fun. Once the ink is dry on the lease, I’ll post pictars of the new facility and the craziness that will ensue. See you in ATL!
