And the grind continues
As this week comes to a close, I’m still scrambling a bit to figure out an off-week (as in not-going-to-plex week) location to practice. Seems like the local fields are feeling the economy pinch pretty hard and are now requiring field paint only. I totally get why they would do that, and I love playing there (the house team and the owner are great to work with), but it does put a crimp in my style:
- If I can’t shoot my own paint at practice, I can’t work up paint credit for the team to use at events.
- If I can’t shoot my own paint at practice, I have to sit on the paint I already have . . .and that’s not good for obvious reasons.
- If I can’t blah blah, then it costs the team more money from the team fund each week, and thus means we get less practice time.
So that’s the pickle I’m in. Hopefully I get some good news today. I’ve got mad love for the peeps that run the field and their team, but that decision may force me to set our own field up. I guess time will tell.
In other news, I think we’re getting close on solving the mystery of paint for this season . . .
Oh, totally off topic: Huge shout out to Nick from Murder, Inc. He’s currently my hero for reasons I can’t say yet. Soon, i’ll have some cool things to show off here
